Lesson Plan

Form:  4

Level: Intermediate and Advance

Time:   90 minutes (2 periods)

Subject: English - Listening and Speaking

Theme:  People

Topic:  Mind My Pronunciation!!!

Objectives:  Students should be able to watch, listen and understand to some videos and song shown by the teacher.

Learning Outcomes:  By the end of the lesson, students should be able to

i)          Listen and respond to the video by answering questions from the teachers.

ii)         Listen and interpret information from the videos.

iii)        Listen and rewrite the lyrics of the songs.

Technical Requirements: 

1)    One computer for a group of 4 students.

2)    Web browser.

Language Content:     Nouns, Adjectives, Vocabulary and the Sound system.

Preparation: 

·         Locate suitable videos that are going to be use in the lesson from the websites.

·         Prepare the worksheets that are going to be use in the lesson.

1. Teacher greets the students.

2. Teacher shows the first video.

3. Teacher asks student to guess whether the subtitles conform to the language that was used in the video

4. Teacher introduces lesson to class.

4. Students are introduced to the lesson.

Development

(80 minutes)

Activity 1 (25 minutes)

1. Teacher instructs students to form a group of 4 students.

2. Teacher allocates each group to a computer.

3. Teach distributes worksheet 1 (lyric) to each group and asks students if they can understand the lyric on the first sheet.

4. Teacher sends students to the chosen website and instructs them to watch the second video attentively

5. Teacher instructs students to watch, discuss and change the lyric on the work sheet based on their own listening.

6. Teacher asks students to volunteer singing the song with the correct lyric and pronunciation.

7. Teacher gives the students the correct version of the lyric.

1. Students form into a group of 4 students.

2. Students sit at the allocated computer.

3. Students receive worksheet 1 (Lyric) and see if they can understand the lyric of the second video

4. Students browse the chosen websites and watch the video and referring it closely with the lyric given.

5. Students completes task in 10 minutes.

6. Students volunteer to sing.

Activity 2 (55 minutes)

1.    Teacher distributes worksheet 2 and repeats the same process mentioned above with the third video.

2.    Teacher will distribute worksheet 3 and ask students to listen to a song and complete the activity in the worksheet.

3.    Teacher checks the answer with whole class.

 

1. Students respond the same way like mentioned above.

2. Students listen to the song and do the exercise in the worksheet.

3. Each group responds appropriately to the instruction.

Conclusion

(5 minutes)

1. Teacher recalls lesson learnt.

2. Teacher reminds students on the moral values learnt today.

3. Teacher concludes lesson

1. Students recap on the lesson.

2. Students are reminded on the moral values learnt today.

 

Follow up activity: The students are to copy and change any lyrics of song that they chose and write it in their exercise book.
